China remains a global technology hub closely watched worldwide. The Global Artificial Intelligence Machines and Electronics Expo (AIE) 2025 (December 4–6), held under the theme “One Expo, Two Cities” in Macao and Zhuhai, further reinforced China’s role as a key regional innovation platform. Highlights in Macao focused on “smart electronics”, covering Smart Communication & IoT, Smart Audio-Visual & Metaverse, and International Investment & Innovation.
On this global stage, IdeasLabs, a Thai-founded MarTech startup, was selected by the Thailand e-Business Centre (TeC) to join the Thailand Pavilion and officially launch Thai-built AI. With more than 1,000 leading companies and buyers from over 30 countries in attendance, the participation underscored the readiness of Thai tech startups to step confidently into the regional technology ecosystem.
IdeasLabs’ Four Key Missions at the Expo
1.Showcase Thai AI capabilities — reaffirming Thailand’s role as a “creator” of globally competitive technology.
2.Expand collaboration networks through business matching to enter the Greater Bay Area (GBA) market.
3.Launch new innovations/projects to attract global investors and buyers.
4.Exchange knowledge and insights by staying updated on trends in robotics, smart electronics, and AI, and bringing them back to further develop solutions in Thailand.
The Core Highlight: Kolaxy — An AI Solution for the Modern World
At the heart of the showcase was Kolaxy, an AI solution designed as an “intelligent assistant for the modern world”. It stood out through three major strengths:
Localization & Contextual Support: Supports Thai–English–Chinese, deeply understands real-world usage contexts, reduces communication errors, and enables smooth enterprise deployment.
Data-Driven Insights: Analyzes usage data and summarizes it into real-time reports and dashboards, helping executives make strategic decisions.
Security & Privacy: Enterprise-grade security with controlled access and auditability, suitable for sensitive and strategic organizational data.
Feedback from attendees and international media highlighted the Thailand Pavilion for its creativity and its ability to make advanced technology approachable. As a result, Thai AI like Kolaxy was seen as “easy to engage with, yet powerful”, drawing significant interest and conversations with international investors. This momentum has sparked growing attention toward Thailand as an “emerging AI rising star in ASEAN”. The most talked-about strengths were Kolaxy’s ability to understand complex language and context—along with its sense of “empathy”, which differentiates it from more purely analytical AI systems elsewhere. Meanwhile, Chinese businesses viewed the Thailand Pavilion as a “bridge” to find partners and expand into Thailand and ASEAN—helping elevate Thailand’s global image from a “tourism destination” to an “innovation-driven nation”.
